Nature is remarkable in the way it allows thing to happen. The aspen grove is not large on Carter Mountain but there are a good number of trees. There are some along the access road and there are some over the hill.
This specimen is growing on the side of a hill. It is in the midst of pine trees on this side of the valley and pine trees on the other side of the deep ravine. The aspen being yellow sticks out like a sore thumb against the dark green trees.
The day was overcast and it had rained and there were raindrops on the aspen leaves on the ground. The leaves of the aspen quiver almost constantly, the raindrops cannot stick on the leaves on the trees. Fortunately, the color yellow holds its color during all kinds of weather, so I was not surprised the tree is so yellow.
The tree was photographed with the 135mm telephoto lens. The aperture of f.8 was the aperture of choice.
